Shifting logs into an outdoor classroom, thinning the arboretum and clearing risk trees — plenty achieved despite a few regulars missing.
Many thanks once again to our volunteers this morning. A few of our regulars weren’t able to join us, but it was lovely to welcome some new faces to the team.
It was hard work moving the logs from the tree that was felled a couple of weeks ago, but they’ll make a great outdoor classroom. We also did some strimming to cut back the brambles in the arboretum, and took down a few more of the trees that had been identified as a risk during last month’s annual tree survey.
There were lots of compliments from visitors too, with comments such as “such a brilliant place” and “we’re so lucky to have this here” — the kind of words that make all the hard work worthwhile. Thanks as always to everyone who took part.
