Maes y Pant means “Hollow Field” in English, a name that reflects the landscape of the site. At its northern edge, Maes y Pant connects to Marford Quarry, managed by the North Wales Wildlife Trust, with free access between the two reserves.
Maes y Pant is privately owned by a company called the ‘Maes y Pant Action Group Ltd’, MyPAG for short. MyPAG is a registered charity, and the trustees are all local people, volunteers who look after the site and run it as a community resource.
