Maes y Pant is a community-managed woodland and former quarry located between Gresford and Marford in North East Wales. Once a working quarry, the site has been transformed into a thriving woodland and wildlife habitat, with a network of paths, open spaces and viewpoints to explore.
Whether you are looking for a peaceful walk, a chance to enjoy nature, somewhere to exercise, or an opportunity to learn more about local wildlife, Maes y Pant offers something for everyone.
Every season brings something different, from spring blossom and birdsong to autumn colour and winter views through the trees.
The woodland contains a mixture of surfaced and unsurfaced paths. Some routes include slopes, uneven ground, exposed tree roots and steps.
Sturdy footwear is recommended, particularly after wet weather.
