Friends of Maes y Pant
Maes y Pant is owned and managed by the Maes y Pant Action Group Ltd (MyPag). A small number of local people - who are all volunteers - are Trustees of MyPag, and run the site for the benefit of the community. The acquisition of the site in the first place and a lot of the work we have done since has been funded by grants. However, as we become more established it is becoming harder to find sources of funding and we are increasingly reliant on financial support from the local community.
If you would like to support us and help fund the necessary maintenance and running costs for the site, you can join the 'Friends of Maes y Pant'. We suggest a donation of £10/year, or £15 /year for a family membership. Of course, you can be as generous as you like, and we will be very grateful. All the money is used to improve the site. For larger projects, we still need to apply for grants, and most grant funders ask that we put in at least 25% of our own money, so we can often use your donation to quadruple the amount we have to spend - a little can go a long way.

Maes y Pant is open for everyone in the community to use, and truthfully you get very little extra in return for your money, apart from being on our email list. We send out a monthly email newsletter to Friends so that you can be kept up to date with things that are happening and current projects. We also hold annual Friends' meetings, usually in the Spring, which is a chance to meet the trustees and discuss what is going on, sometimes with a guest speaker who can talk about a relevant topic.
Fundamentally, however, the most important benefit of being a Friend is the knowledge that you are contributing to a lovely site and very valuable village amenity. For the Friends we have, that seems to be enough.
